Who is Steel Pines?
Steel Pines is a family-run general contracting and sawmill business based in Edinburg, NY, owned and operated by Mark and Darcie Burroughs. Mark brings 20+ years of hands-on experience in framing, masonry, and finish carpentry; Darcie manages operations, business development, and client communication. Together with team members Frank Agosta and Austin Bigec, Steel Pines handles custom home builds, barns, renovations, and sawmill work throughout the southern Adirondacks.
Steel Pines started from a mutual desire to slow down our lives, start a small business and work with our favorite material: WOOD. The company name comes from the meeting of two worlds: Darcie, who lived in NYC for eight years, worked full-time at Sports Illustrated Swimsuit as the Senior Editor. Mark grew up near the Adirondacks living every moment he could outdoors. He has worked in construction, mechanics, and woodworking for over 20 years. Their opposite lifestyles and backgrounds converge perfectly like Steel and Pine do. Industrial meets natural. Two strong, durable and functional materials that have endless opportunities for creating and building.
